The major deciding factors while choosing a university include, but are not limited to, location, tuition fees, courses, and PGWP pathway. It is generally recommended to apply to a DLI university, as only students from DLI universities qualify for PR through CLC.
Once the university is decided, the applicant can apply for the offer letter by providing the university with mandatory documents, including but not limited to all academic certificates, passport, EPT score, letter of recommendation, CV, and work experience certificate (if applicable).
It can take anywhere from 14 to 28 days for an applicant to receive an offer letter, depending on the university, course, and course level.
Some universities require applicants to pay an application fee that is later incorporated into their tuition fee payment. Some universities do provide an application fee waiver as well.
The next step after getting the offer is to pay the tuition fee. Depending on the university, course, and course level, the mandatory payment amount can range from anywhere between 4,000 CAD and 18,000 CAD, with an option to pay the full fee as well.
A Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) is an official letter written by the university to the provincial government as proof that the applicant has been accepted into the university and is part of their allocation. PAL applies to international undergraduate students.
Students applying to a Master’s program or higher get an offer of acceptance as their final offer letter that can be used to proceed with the visa application.
Visa can be lodged after the final offer or PAL has been received. It can take anywhere between 4 and 12 weeks to receive a Canadian visa after lodgment.
